The Last of Us devs confirm work on “brand new single-player experience”

The Last of Us Part 1 multiplayer
Nico Vergara Updated on by

Naughty Dog has finally provided fans with an update on the long-awaited The Last of Us multiplayer game. According to a recent statement, the developers are apparently planning on delaying the cooperative mode even further to give it the right amount of polish that it needs.

In the announcement posted through their official Twitter account, Naughty Dog has also noted that their “team will continue to work on the project, as well as our other games in development, including a brand new single-player experience.” Unfortunately, information on their latest creation is currently scarce, but they have promised to share more details on it soon.

At the time of writing, however, there still isn’t an official name for Naughty Dog’s multiplayer offering so players are still temporarily calling it “The Last of Us Factions.” Some players were predictably disappointed upon hearing that the cooperative game still isn’t ready for release, but a majority of the player base has seemingly decided to remain patient after telling the devs to “take their time.”

Of course, Naughty Dog’s track record largely indicates that this will be another runaway hit upon release. The fact that they were proactive in providing fixes for their troubling The Last of Us Part 1 PC port is naturally very promising as well. But with no concrete date yet to look forward to, we’ll just have to wait in the meantime and play more of their other brilliant creations.

With that said, we suggest checking out our The Last of Us Part 1 crafting guide and The Last of Us Part 1 best skills so you can have an easier time completing the harrowing tale of Joel and Ellie once again.
