It’s been announced that the main three Kingdom Hearts games will be heading to the Nintendo Switch as Cloud versions.

The news was announced, as you do, during the reveal of Sora heading to Super Smash Bros. Ultimate. That game’s producer Masahiro Sakurai revealed the news which was later confirmed by the official Nintendo UK Twitter account. All three Kingdom Hearts offerings will be cloud versions, requiring an internet connection on your Nintendo Switch to play.

The games offered include Kingdom Hearts – HD 1.5 + 2.5 ReMIX. This is a HD compilation of the first two games, given a modern spruce up from their PS2 releases. Next is Kingdom Hearts HD 2.8 Final Chapter Prologue which includes a HD remaster of 3DS exclusive Kingdom Hearts 3D: Dream Drop Distance. Finally, Kingdom Hearts III + Re Mind includes both the most recent 2019 Kingdom Hearts III RPG and its Re Mind story DLC. Phew!

Square Enix also took the time, following the broadcast, to publish a new video that also revealed a special Kingdom Hearts 20th Anniversary Event. While not saying much about it, the publisher did say more details will be released closer to the time.

A release date wasn’t revealed for the Kingdom Hearts Cloud Versions for Nintendo Switch just yet. Hopefully, we won’t be waiting too long to find out. In the meantime, check out the video below.
