SNK has unveiled the next fighter in its ever growing roster for next year’s The King of Fighters XV as Angel.
Angel is another series veteran, having featured in a number of KOF titles since The King of Fighters 2001. She’s a member of the secret organisation NESTS. They’re a set of criminals, many of them modified superhumans, who act as frequent antagonists in the long running series.
She’s described as playful, but with the nickname ‘Knockout Free Spirit’ she’s ready to fight at a moment’s notice. She’s got a mean set of kicks, and a few wrestling moves in her arsenal to boot. You can see Angel in action for yourself in the character trailer down below.
Angel’s addition makes her the 39th(!) addition to the beat-em-up’s enormous roster. Four more characters are set to be revealed, joining previously announced fighters such as Iori Yagami, Meitenkun and Andy Bogard. That’ll bring the number of potential fighters to 43. Blimey!
This past weekend, players on PlayStation got to have their first hands on with the game in a public open beta test. Meanwhile, The King of Fighters XV full game lands on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One and PC on February 17, 2022.
