SNK Corp is gearing up to open the doors for its beta test for upcoming fighter The King of Fighters XV on PlayStation consoles from this evening.

The beta starts very early for those of us in the UK, kicking off at 3am UK time tonight. It’ll run through until November 22 at around 3pm in the afternoon UK time. The beta will be playable on both the PlayStation 5 and the PlayStation 4, and cross-play will be supported. There’s both offline and online modes, and you won’t even need a PlayStation Plus subscription to take part.

There’ll be eight characters to pick from during this beta test. These include Dolores, Shun’ei, Kyo Kusanagi, Iori Yagami, Chizuru Kagura, Yashiro Nanakase, Shermie and Chris. Players will be able to take them into casual match and room match online, and versus, training and the tutorial offline. You can check out a full FAQ on the beta over here.

This is a PlayStation exclusive open beta however, other formats will have to wait for release to get their hands on the game, it seems. You can check out a trailer for the open beta for yourself down below. The King of Fighters XV full game, meanwhile, arrives on PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X|S and PC on February 17, 2022.
