SNK Corporation has announced that players of beat-em-up The King of Fighters XV will get a free DLC next month with a new fighter.

Omegal Rugal first debuted as a boss in The King of Fighters 95, and will arrive on April 14. Known as the ‘Dark Arms Merchant of Death’, he was the ruthless head of the world’s black market. Given immense power by Orochi in TKOF 97‘s outing, he was a force to be reckoned with until his defeat. Now, he’s been brought back from the dead one more time thanks to Verse’s influence.

Rugal arrives alongside a new Boss Challenge mode that’s being added to the game. Players who are wanting to test their skills can do so against an extremely tough CPU version of the character. Successfully defeat him, and you’ll get access to a special costume, stage and music for your trouble.

The free update arrives as a surprise bonus in-between the game’s current DLC plans. Team Garou arrived in the game last week, and will be joined by Team South Town this May. A new patch for the game has also dropped today, resolving a couple of minor issues with freezing and dashing.
