The Illuminate will allegedly send out an ‘Observer’ to watch our every move, according to Helldivers 2 leak

Following countless leaks and theories around their potential appearance, Helldivers 2 developer Arrowhead Game Studios still has yet to reveal the next threat to Super Earth: the Illuminate. Although many speculated that the extraterrestrial species would be arriving soon after the appearance of the Meridia black hole, we have yet to see neither hide nor hair of these deadly aliens. However, a recent leak suggests that it may only be a matter of time until they make their presence known.

A recent Reddit post from leaker IronS1ghts revealed that the Illuminate would be sending out scouts called ‘Observers’ in missions. Although their actual function has yet to be revealed, the Illuminate will most likely use them as a sentry that can call in backup once it spots any Helldivers. Irons1ghts later commented that “they couldn’t access any of the Illuminate planets, so [they] put this [Observer] on a bug planet,” referring to the screenshot they took.

Of course, like always, you’ll need to take this information with a grain of salt since AGS hasn’t announced anything regarding the upcoming enemy faction despite recently revealing the Escalation of Freedom release date. Though with several Illuminate-themed assets already in the game, including an alleged new mission type involving Super Earth’s president (albeit unofficially), we expect the developers to reveal more about the deadly alien faction sooner rather than later.
