The First Descendant fans have a lot to anticipate very soon with the imminent arrival of Serena combined with everything planned for Season 2 Episode 2. While we still have a few weeks to wait for the new content to arrive, Nexon recently released update 1.2.8. This has massively buffed weapons, and a video for The First Descendant shows how to “nuke” Defiler bosses in just six seconds.
How to “nuke” Defiler bosses in The First Descendant
In The First Descendant update 1.2.8, the patch notes mentioned the following improvement:
- Improved firearms Attribute ATK to increase according to the Weak Point Damage upon successful Weak Point Attacks
This is something that has massively buffed weapons when dealing damage to weak points. Because of this, players have discovered how to obliterate Defiler in mere seconds.
The Last Dagger is the weapon people are touting, and The First Descendant YouTuber, Vash Cowaii, has shared how to “nuke” Defiler in as little as six seconds. It is possible to topple the boss in as little as five and four seconds, but it can also take slightly longer pending on your performance.
The weapon used in the guide is The Last Dagger combined with the following mods:
- Electric Priority
- Electric Enhancement
- Concentration Priority
- Better Concentration
- Fire Rate UP
- Have Aiming
- Action and Reaction
- Weak Point Sight
- Ultra-Precision Strike
- Mental Focus
Below are the cores:
- Electric ATK – 1.84
- Firearm ATK – 0.8
- Firearm ATK – 0.8
- Fire Rate – 0.2
- Fire Rate – 0.2
Below are the stats for The Last Dagger:
- Weak Point Damage – 0.12
- Critical Hit Damage – 0.368
- Firearm ATK – 0.122
- Critical Hit Rate – 0.133
The Descendant used by Vash Cowaii is Gley. When you enter the field, you want to “spam cast your abilities for a little bit just so you drop your health,” and you’re then going to “grapple twice to move towards him, and, in the middle of the second grapple, you’re immediately going to start your increased sensory and start unloading”.
The goal is to pre-emptively build your Mental Focus stacks. While waiting for Defiler to spawn, with Gley you are able to “work up towards your 150 limit on your stacks without losing any of your stacks, meaning you get the full benefit of the mod [Mental Focus]”.
In the battle, it’s recommended that you shoot the weak point on the knee to your right. This should allow you to get him to stumble “before spawning his bubbles”. If he manages to “spawn his little bubbles, that means your run is about to take five seconds longer”.
