The First Descendant devs announce Ultimate Weapon refunds following new update

Nexon has just released a new update for The First Descendant that has introduced Ultimate Blair to the game. While the new ultimate character is obviously the biggest addition, the update 1.2.14 patch notes include a lot more gameplay improvements, fixes, and tweaks. One of these improvements concerns Ultimate Weapons, and Nexon has announced that eligible The First Descendant players will soon be receiving refunds for Core Binders following the new update.

How to get The First Descendant Ultimate Weapon refunds

Following the release of update 1.2.14, Nexon has shared an announcement on Discord concerning refunds for Ultimate Weapons. Per The First Descendant developer, update 1.2.14 has made improvements to “Ultimate Weapons to improve convenience”.

As stated by Nexon, “When researching while you own identical weapons, the Unique Ability Enhancement Levels will be combined and applied. For weapons with unlocked Cores, you can acquire the weapon with its Core already unlocked”.

Because of this change, “Core Binders” used for multiple Core unlocks on identical weapons prior to the update, will be refunded”.

Regarding how refunds will work, eligible players include those “who unlocked Cores for 2 or more identical weapons” before update 1.2.14. These players “will receive the number of “Core Binders” used minus one”. An example cited by Nexon is, “If you unlocked Cores for 3 Smithereens, 2 “Core Binders” will be sent via in-game mail”.

Lastly, these refunded “Core Binders” will be found via in-game mail starting April 18th. There’s no expiration date mentioned in the announcement, but there should be one attached to the mail you receive.
