Publisher Bandai Namco has released a new video with 20 minutes of gameplay from the upcoming horror game The Dark Pictures: House of Ashes.
On this occasion, we sit down with the gameâs director Will Doyle to give us additional insight on what we can expect. Weâre shown some scenes from the early game Jason and his fellow soldiers first encounter one of the gameâs creatures. Carrying a wounded squadmate is a tricky task at the best of times. Itâs made harder with the bloodthirsty monsters after you.
As is traditional with the series, thereâs plenty of potential outcomes. Just about any and every named character can die, and of course your actions will have consequences down the line. Doyle shows us during his playthrough some of the alternate ways the same scene can play out. And yup, we get to see some of the multiple ways those characters can bite it during the House of Ashes gameplay footage too.
We also get to spend a little time with Ashley Tisdaleâs character Rachel in the  footage. Sheâs exploring an ancient underground temple the soldiers have discovered underground. It also turns out this episode will link to the seriesâ first episode The Dark Pictures: Man of Medan, as Rachel discovers some of the gameâs journal collectibles youâll be able to piece together over the course of the game.
Developer Supermassive Games will also be holding a Reddit AMA following this presentation later today at 5pm UK time. The Dark Pictures: House of Ashes lands on October 22. Itâll be out on Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4 and PC.
