Nintendo has dropped its final trailer for the eagerly awaited release of The Legend of Zelda Tears of the Kingdom ahead of the game’s launch next month.

With anticipation growing, fans can’t wait to see more of the game which is set to arrive on the Nintendo Switch on May 12, 2023. With today’s trailer they finally got that chance, and it’s surely only set their excitement higher than it already was.

Nintendo’s social media accounts announced the coming of the trailer earlier this week, whipping fans into a frenzy and igniting fond memories of the final trailer for the previous Zelda title, Breath of the Wild. That trailer currently sits on a whopping 28 million views on YouTube, with many fans calling it their favourite Zelda trailer so far. It’s certainly a high bar to set – but watch the new trailer below and judge for yourself.

In case you missed it, the most recent gameplay walkthrough for Tears of the Kingdom last month showcased the new Fuse ability, that allows you to fuse items and objects in the world together to create new objects -even going so far as to letting players create vehicles like hovercrafts, cars and more. It wasn’t the only new ability shown in the trailer either – as we got a good look at the new Ascend ability that allows players to magically ‘swim’ through the ceiling of an enclosed space.
