Square Enix has dropped what’s it’s called the final trailer for Stranger of Paradise Final Fantasy Origin.

It’s quite the slice of action, setting the scene for the spin-off action RPG while also introducing us to a number of foes Jack and friends will face off against in the prequel adventure. There’s some glimpses of gameplay with a twinge of Devil May Cry about it, and it all ends on a Frank Sinatra song. As you do.

The PlayStation Blog offers up a little more info on two of these baddies, including the many-tentacled Kraken. Described as a fiend of water, he uses abilities that will steal your buffs. The fiend of Earth meanwhile is named Lich, and will sling spells and status elements at you and your party.

To combat these foes, you’ll make use of the game’s job system. This mechanic allows you to change fighting style as you see fit, and levelling them up unlocks more advanced techniques. Red Mages can cast powerful magic to both support teammates and attack enemies. Berserkers powerful attacks, meanwhile, mean axes and greatswords are lethal in their hands. Samurai’s then are all about MP recovery, allowing you to get back precious points as you fight.

It certainly looks like we’re in for an interesting time with Stranger of Paradise Final Fantasy Origin, and we don’t have to wait too much longer to find out. The game drops March 18 on Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4 and PC.
