Steam Winter Sale 2023 start date, time and official games list

It’s been an incredible year of video game releases and 2023 is finally coming to an end. To celebrate the end of the year, Valve is about to conduct their annual Steam Winter Sale event. The Steam Winter Sale 2023 start date and time countdown is just over the horizon, and Valve has confirmed some of the games that will be part of the discounts.

Away from Valve, know that the GoG Winter Sale 2023 is happening right now. Not only that, but the Epic Games holiday sale is underway too with huge discounts for magnificent games such as Alan Wake 2. As if that wasn’t enough, Epic Games is also giving away 17 free mystery games this December. The freebies become daily starting December 20th, and leaks suggest an epic fighting game is getting given away.

While all of the above is exciting, in just a couple of days we get to take advantage of the Steam Winter Sale 2023. This will be your opportunity to buy some incredible games at massively discounted prices.

Steam Winter Sale 2023 start date

The start date for the Steam Winter Sale 2023 is Thursday, December 21st. It is scheduled to last until January 4th, meaning you will have two weeks of discounts.

While Valve previously kept the exact date of sales under wraps until a big announcement, the company changed their tune this year announcing every single date for their 2023 sales back in February through a public Steamworks post to developers. Aside from just sales, the event also marks the beginning of the Steam Awards.

The nominees for the Steam Awards have been confirmed, and you will be able to vote for your preferred winners once the Winter Sale begins. Below are the nominees for Game of the Year:

When does the Steam Winter Sale 2023 start?

The start time for the Steam Winter Sale 2023 is 10 AM PT/ 1 PM ET/ 6 PM GMT on December 21st. Valve’s bargains will end at the same hours on January 4th.

In addition to this holiday festivity, know that the ARK Survival Ascended Winter Wonderland event starts on the same day. This is available in early access format on Steam, and it supports crossplay with PS5 and Xbox consoles. If you were a fan of ASE or you enjoy multiplayer survival games, then ARK Ascended is definitely worth buying as it’s absolutely gorgeous and has a great community.
