Despite Bethesda’s upcoming RPG Starfield focusing on a single-player narrative it doesn’t mean there isn’t a strong social community among its prospective players. With the sheer size that Starfield is advertising, fans are more excited than ever to explore the galaxy alongside each other when the game fully releases in just over a month’s time.

While many players have reminisced on the sense of community previous Bethesda worlds generated through shared exploration online, many are now looking forward to the endless conversations they’ll be able to have with fellow Starfield fans given the sheer size and endless possibilities many players are expecting. Taking to the Starfield Reddit, one fan said, “Starfield will be incredible because now we’ll be exploring an entire galaxy. Seems like a lot of us plan to avoid the internet just in case of spoilers. It feels cool that so many of us are diving into the great field of stars all together and all at once.”

Many players are just exceptionally excited at the prospect of experiencing a new Bethesda RPG for the first time since Fallout 76’s lukewarm reception in 2018. User StoneRevolver said, “That’s something I’m really excited about. Bgs’s environmental storytelling is a big strength for them and there’s gonna be a period of time where we all get to experience constant new stuff around every corner. That’s something you don’t get on a replay, the first-time exploration magic. It’s one of the things that makes Elder Scrolls and Fallout special too.”

Some fans are even planning on creating a dedicated Starfield discord server that focuses on”role-playing exploration.” One player pitched the idea saying, “We should make a Discord that is purely about role-playing exploration. After action reports, resources, and even other teams going to the same planet to verify information.”

Despite Starfield being a single-player-focused game it is almost impossible to escape the sense of community this game has created with the Starfield release date fast approaching.
