The Deathclaws are arguably Bethesda’s most iconic creature. Whether you started with Fallout 1 or Fallout 76 you’ll likely remember the first time you ran into, and were promptly killed by, the fearsome wasteland monster. However, with Starfield just around the corner players think they’ve found a new creature that “makes a Deathclaw look friendly.”

Bethesda’s Todd Howard has remained pretty tight-lipped about what monsters and creatures we can expect from Starfield. Outside of the few glimpses we’ve gotten from trailers, Howard has yet to confirm if some of the horrifying creatures we’ve already seen are the worst on offer. If they’re not, then we shudder at the mere thought of what is. We’re not the only ones terrified of Starfield’s new monsters either, as players have been taking to the Starfield Reddit to share their fear of the future Deathclaw rival.

Noting the reveal of the creature in the Starfield Direct one player said the creature was a mix of everything they hated about monsters. They said, “It’s incredibly fast, it can leap at you from above, and it looks like a crossbreed between Alien and a Spider.” It’ll almost certainly be a spine-chilling moment when this creature is introduced. Other players were quick to share this sentiment with one user “getting a ‘kill it with fire’ vibe.”

There are also a lot of comparisons to other media with the design of the monster going around with users comparing the creature to a Cloverfield monster or something more akin to a creature from Stranger Things. However, the comparison of the creature to the “Future Predator” from Primeval will likely most resonate and itch that little nostalgia part of your brain if you’re part of our British audience.
