“Star Wars: Tales of the Jedi” is a title that for many of us, will have us quoting Obi-Wan’s famous reply, “Now that’s a name I’ve not heard in a long time. A long time.”
This is because, years before Bioware released their seminal “Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic” videogame. Dark Horse Comics published the very first “Star Wars: Tales of the Jedi” stories in a comic series that became a landmark moment in Star Wars history as it gave fans our first glimpse at the history of the Jedi and the Sith as well as giving us the first ever mention of the Sith homeworld, Korriban, a location that would memorably appear in both the “Knights of the Old Republic” video game, and the “Star Wars: The Clone Wars” animated series.
As, over the course of 5 years of comics, fans were introduced to iconic Jedi heroes such as Ulic-Qel Droma, Cay Qel-Droma, Nomi Sunrider, and Tott Doneeta. In addition to being introduced to equally iconic Sith such as Exar Qun (the first character to ever be seen wielding a double bladed lightsaber), Freedom Nadd, and Naga Sadow. All characters whose presence and influence still resonate throughout the Star Wars universe today.
Now, “Tales of the Jedi”, makes a welcome return to the Star Wars universe as 6 animated shorts that will give fans brand new stories centered on Count Dooku, Qui-Gon Jinn, and Ahsoka.

With ‘Tales of the Jedi’ due to release exclusively on Disney+ tomorrow. Actress and Director, Bryce Dallas Howard, has revealed that she will voicing Jedi Master, Yaddle, in the series:
Yaddle is somewhat of an a lesser known figure in Star Wars lore as up until the recent ‘The High Republic’ stories published by Lucasfilm, not much had been know about the Jedi Master other than that she was a member of The Jedi Council at the time of ‘Star Wars Episode I: The Phantom Menace’ and that she had been killed in battle at undisclosed point in the following years.
Hopefully though, with Howard voicing her, these new shorts will give us a better understanding of Yaddle and her legacy.
With less than a week until ‘Tales of the Jedi’ debuts on Disney+, the official ‘Star Wars’ Twitter, and LinkedIn, accounts shared the below image which appears to be a still from the series’ trailer overlaid with the words “One Week”. But, importantly, gives us our best look yet at the new (presumably an) Inquisitor that is set to menace Ahsoka Tano as part of her chapters of the animated series:
As confirmed in the below tweet by Star Wars YouTuber, EckhartsLadder, we now know that the durations of each episode of ‘Tales of the Jedi’ is between 10 minutes and 17 minutes in length, with the opening episode running the longest at 17 minutes, while the final episode runs a total of 14 minutes:
EchartsLadder then followed this tweet with the tweet below confirming that screener copies of the episodes are available now, with first impressions likely to be posted to social media over the coming days:
In anticipation of the series’ release in just a few weeks, Lucasfilm have released a brand new, beautiful poster for the series showcasing the many fan favourite characters that will appear in the shorts such as Ahsoka Tano, Count Dooku, Anakin Skywalker, Obi-Wan Kenobi, Qui-Gon Jinn, and Mace Windu:
