Square Enix has dropped a new trailer for upcoming RPG Star Ocean: The Divine Force introducing robotic companion D.U.M.A.

The alien lifeform will be your constant companion throughout the story of Star Ocean: The Divine Force. It’s a good thing they’re a very useful sidekick then, offering plenty of abilities for Raymond and his party that’ll help you both in and out of combat. This includes its Vanguard Assault function, which right from the go allows you to take flight. You’ll be able to use this both for traversal, and even in combos when fighting. D.U.M.A. will also help you find items and treasures like gems on the field. They can even scan for treasure chests, and other interactable objects.

In combat, D.U.M.A. will let your party unleash devastating VA Attacks and VA Actions that allow you to heal your allies on the battlefield. Enemies can be analysed to find their weaknesses, and you’ll also be able to perform Blindside attacks. When the latter are activated, your foes lose sight of you & you get a temporary damage boost. D.U.M.A. will help target the best enemy to Blindside attack.

You’ll get to experience all this yourself when Star Ocean: The Divine Force arrives on October 27 for Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4 and PC.
