Star Ocean: The Divine Force is out on October 27th, on PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X/S, Xbox One, and PC.

Square Enix has announced the release date in the new trailer below:

The description reads:

“A New Chapter in the Star Ocean Series Will Launch on October 27, 2022 featuring a story that blends fantasy and sci-fi. STAR OCEAN THE DIVINE FORCE offers a plethora of playable characters and side stories to explore and a unique battle system promising thrilling fights using simple and instinctive controls.”

The game is the latest in a long line of R.P.G.s that began in 1996, with the release of the original Star Ocean. The last game in the series was 2016’s Star Ocean: Anamnesis. The series has a history of strange names.

The upcoming game will follow the travails of Raymond and Laeticia. And it also features a jetpack, and a new battle system centred on action points and combos. The game unfolds in the setting of Aster IV and features a choice-driven story. For a more in-depth look, check out the new Mission Report video below:
