Nintendo has now confirmed the release date for the first wave of content for the recently-revealed Expansion Pass of ink-based shooter, Splatoon 3.
As per the Nintendo UK Twitter account, Wave 1 – dubbed Inkopolis – will arrive at the end of this month, and return players to the titular location last seen in the first Splatoon.

Players will be able to select Inkopolis Plaza as their main location between games, which has been updated with some new vendors and new features. The famous Squid Sisters will also appear here during Splatfests.
Splatoon 3 Expansion Pass Wave 1 Inkopolis release date
Wave 1 of the Splatoon 3 Expansion Pass will arrive on February 28, 2023 for the Nintendo Switch.
The Expansion Pass will comprise of two waves of content, with the first a return to classic Splatoon 1 haunt, the city of Inkopolis.
It’ll be followed by Wave 2, of course, which will be a new single player DLC named Side Order that’ll also help fill out some of the world lore.
That’s because it’ll see players discover what became of the Inkopolis Square from Splatoon 2. Not much more detail was revealed, but it’ll come along a little later than the first wave.
Splatoon 3 Expansion Pass Wave 2 Side Order predicted release date
A specific date wasn’t given for the second wave of Splatoon 3’s DLC – but only that players can expect it “by December 31st, 2024.”
That’s a almost two entire years away, so we hope Nintendo are just playing it incredibly safe with their estimate and we won’t be waiting that full length of time. Rather, we hope to see it by the end of this year – but we’ll have to wait and see.
Regardless, you can now buy the Splatoon 3 Expansion Pass, which will grant players access to both Waves of DLC when they’re released – on the Nintendo eShop right now.
