Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 developer Insomniac Games has now confirmed the release date for its long awaited New Game+ patch for PlayStation 5 exclusive Spider-Man 2.
On a statement on the studio’s official X (formerly Twitter) account, the studio said the title update will arrive in March and include “highly requested features such as New Game+, new suits and more!” – as to what that more is, we’ll find out closer to release.
When is the next Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 patch?
The new Spider-Man 2 patch, including New Game+, is scheduled to arrive on March 7, 2024.
At the time of writing, information on any upcoming Spider-Man 2 DLC also hasn’t been revealed, so those looking forward to additional story content will have to remain patient indefinitely for an announcement. However, the game enjoyed plenty of plaudits – despite narrowly missing out on many categories at The Game Awards to some outrage from the fans.
Though many within the game’s loyal fan base had been asking Insomniac Games for updates on future Spider-Man 2 DLC, the vaunted developer has remained tight-lipped on their plans for the game’s continuation. However, if the sequel is anything like its equally celebrated 2018 predecessor, then players should expect a handful of expansions to arrive in the next few months, similar to how The Heist, Turf Wars, and Silver Lining were released for Marvel’s Spider-Man.
Of course, with Marvel’s Wolverine being rumored to launch as early as Fall 2024, updates to Spider-Man 2 could be cut short to focus on the Weapon X-led entry. But with hackers reportedly threatening to leak details about the upcoming project, the alleged release window could end up getting pushed back to as late as 2025.
