Saber Interactive has confirmed the next Warhammer 40K: Space Marine 2 maintenance period, temporarily turning off the servers for the popular multiplayer game. After postponing the game’s server maintenance, Saber has revealed that the period will take longer than normal.

Next Space Marine 2 maintenance period

With a new October Operation on the way, marking the end of Kadaku’s Tyranid invasion, Saber is preparing a new patch for the new Warhammer game. While there’s still no release date for the new mission, Saber is still adding hotfixes and server improvements to Space Marine 2.

While the original maintenance period was planned for Thursday, October 10th, 2024, the period has been pushed back. Now, Warhammer 40K: Space Marine 2 maintenance will take place on October 11th, at 09.30 UTC / 11.30 CET / 05.30 ET.

Unlike previous maintenance periods, this upcoming maintenance will last for an entire hour. During that time, the Warhammer game will have all of its online services unavailable for players including PvP, Operations, online co-op for the main campaign and online character progression.

“Thank you for your understanding, and sorry for the inconvenience,” publisher Focus Home Interactive told fans on Twitter.

Still no Operations date

Despite the transparency with the Warhammer 40K: Space Marine 2’s maintenance and hotfixes, Saber has still yet to reveal when the next Operation is coming. With Space Marine 2 updates typically landing on a Thursday, we could see the new mission launch as early as next week, but there is still no concrete release date outside of its October slate.

Nevertheless, Saber is still set to continue support for the new game with a host of post-launch missions. With the game’s massive sales success resulting in even more support for the game, with plans for Space Marine 3 even being discussed, fans will be eating well for a while.

Alongside the Warhammer game, Saber is also officially working on an Avatar: The Last Airbender game, the biggest game the franchise has ever seen.
