Warhammer 40K: Space Marine 2 is an amazing sandbox for fans of the iconic tabletop game. While its customisation is fantastic, outside of a few lore-based restrictions, players have bemoaned the lack of lense options.

Alongside the awesome new December operation adding a brand-new enemy type, Saber Interactive has added extensive lense customisation for everyone’s custom marines.

Space Marine 2 adds lens customisation

Explained in the latest blog post, Patch 5.0 will see the long-awaited addition of lense customisation for players’ custom marines. Players won’t be able to select specific hex codes from a colour wheel, but there’s now a lot more options to use.

In the new update, official lense customisation gives you fifteen official Citadel Paints colours to choose from for your marine’s eyes. Alongside the basic Mephisto Red colour, you’ll be able to select Macragge Blue, Abaddon Black, Liberator Gold, Evil Sunz Scarlet and more.

It’s not the most extensive selection of colours, but it’s an added layer of freedom for players to explore. After all, Space Marine 2 is the best recreation of the tabletop’s aesthetic, and most miniature painters love to take their own liberties with their paint jobs.

Alongside the arrival of lense customisation, a bunch of new armour pieces are also arriving to the game. Some of this is locked behind DLC, such as the Dark Angels Chapter Pack, but there’s also a few freebies on the way.

With five million players fighting Tyranid scum and the forces of Chaos, Saber Interactive is dedicated to continuing support of the awesome Warhammer game. With an official Space Marine 2 animated sequel launching next month, there’s a lot to be excited for.

While there’s no word on any official story DLC for Titus, and a third enemy faction will likely never be added, the arrival of new enemy types and an upcoming horde mode is still on the cards.

A huge success for Saber Interactive, and for Warhammer fans in general, Space Marine 2 is a banger that just won’t stop.
