Saber Interactive’s Warhammer 40K: Space Marine 2 is still being updated with new enemies, new weapons and more missions, but the game isn’t being updated to stop cheaters in PvE games. While developer Saber has taken on PvP hackers, the ongoing wave of PvE cheaters have yet to be squashed.

In public Operations, PC players in cross-play games are playing as classes with unlocked weapon loadouts and boosted stats. With specific weapons locked to specific classes for balancing purposes, Space Marine 2 cheaters are playing as whatever combination they want. While fun for private games, mod users are still flooding public matches with their overpowered loadouts.

Unlocked Space Marine 2 loadouts

Following the annoying rise of Operations speedrunners blasting past objectives, modded loadouts are now flooding public matches. While fine in private matches, public games now see players with fully unlocked loadouts rinsing through enemies alongside restricted players.

This has led to many complaints from fans stuck on console or attempting to play the game as intended. With crossplay forcing normal players to play in operations alongside cheaters rinsing through hordes of Tyranids, its become annoying for players stuck on console.

“The Codex Astartes does not support this action,” one player said on Reddit. “I have no problem with mods, at all, in private lobbies. In public lobbies I’ll just kick anyone using them as it’s derogatory to my enjoyment.”

“Mod users don’t give a s**t about consent,” another player said. “Even if they’re running blatant cheats like multiple classes and dreadnought spawning.”

Options for all

Of course, for console players, there is an easy fix for gamers who want to avoid the scourge of modders. There is a crossplay option that you can toggle off, making it so you’re only playing with gamers on console, hence removing modders.

However, on PC, this isn’t possible, and with Saber Interactive seemingly unwilling to stop modders in PvE games, it is an issue.
