Warhammer 40K: Space Marine 2 is set to receive its first post-launch operation this month. Seeing an end to the Invasion of Kadaku, players will face off against a swarm of Tyranids and the massive Hierophant Bio Titan.
However, this is just the start of new content for Saber Interactive’s Warhammer game. Alongside revealing the new mission, the developer promised brand-new enemies are also in the works.
New Tyranids and Chaos forces
Announced in a recent post-launch video, Saber has promised that new Tyranid and Chaos forces will be added to Warhammer 40K: Space Marine 2. While specific details were not revealed, the studio explained that it’s working on new foes for both of the game’s factions.
Unfortunately, Saber didn’t reveal whether or not Necron enemies will debut in Space Marine 2 after its brilliant ending tease. However, an entirely new, third faction of foes could be saved for Space Marine 3.
The first new enemy to come to the Warhammer game is the massive Hierophant Bio Titan, a towering collosi connected to the sick Hive Mind of the Xenos scum. Saber has not revealed how players will fight the massive beast, but the developer did show the terrifying creature stomping across the fields of Kadaku.
A chance to fix Chaos?
With Space Marine 2 devs aware that Chaos combat isn’t as fun as Tyranid skirmishes, the addition of new enemies gives the team a chance to overhaul combat against the Thousand Suns.
With new Chaos enemy types in development, Saber has an opportunity to rebalance the gameplay loop of the heretic Space Marines. While many — ourselves included — enjoy Chaos fights as they are, Saber has a chance to turn them into something they also enjoy as much as fighting Xenos.
This is just the start of post-launch content for Warhammer 40K: Space Marine 2 with more operations, cosmetic DLC, enemies and more on the way. With huge sales making story DLC possible, years of content is in the works for the brilliant action game.
