Bloomberg.com is reporting that the Sony PSP has been delayed in Europe, with the handheld certain to miss its proposed March 2005 release date. With News of the North American release breaking yesterday, we predicted bad things for the European launch date.

Kenchi Fukunaga, a spokesperson at Sony, said that the PSP would start selling by the first half of the year. No date was mentioned, so this could point towards a release possibly as late as June 2005. The delay is said to be due to not being able to manufacture enough chips to meet demand.

We will have more on the European PSP release date as news breaks.
