Sega has announced that physical copies of the upcoming Sonic Colours Ultimate have been delayed due to “unforeseen logistical issues.”
The company tweeted out the announcement yesterday evening. The delay effects both the standard boxed edition and the game’s limited Keyring editions. Sega has also said that the issue effects all EMEA markets, apart from Australia and New Zealand.
Fortunately, the delay doesn’t appear to have effected the digital version of the game at all. Currently, Sega haven’t said when the physical copies will now arrive, nor are there further details as to what’s caused the Sonic Colours Ultimate delay. However, they do promise “more information to follow” so fingers crossed we’ll get an update soon.
Sonic Colours: Ultimate is an updated version of 2010’s Sonic Colours and was announced back in May. Sonic must once more stop the evil Doctor Eggman’s latest nefarious scheme. Only this time, he’s enlisting the help of a mysterious alien race known as the Wisps. Each one is a different colour (hence the title) and can imbue Sonic with a different power.
For now then, Sonic Colours Ultimate will release digitally on September 7 on Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch and PC.
