A number of excited Zelda fans still haven’t received their Tears of the Kingdom Collector’s Editions, despite the fact the game’s launch is just hours away.

While many fans who’ve opted for the game’s standard edition have started excitedly posting on how they’ve received their standard edition physical copies in the post in time for tomorrow’s launch, a not-insignificant number haven’t received their copies yet, and are getting a little worried they won’t get here before the general public are allowed to start playing from midnight.

In a thread entitled ‘The pain is real’ on the Tears of the Kingdom subreddit, a number of users are posting memes, such the traditional image of Squidward (as the person who’s order hasn’t shipped yet) looking at SpongeBob and Patrick (as the people posting getting their copies early) through a grate forlornly. But comments on the thread also tell a similar story.

“Amazon has yet to ship my copy” says Stealthinater1234. “If they don’t do it tomorrow, I’ll just cancel my order and go pick one up at a local store.” Similarly, HM2008 is going to take action and buy a second copy rather than wait two weeks for their Collectors Edition. “Just once in my life I’d (have) liked to get a game early.”

It’s not just Amazon affected either, as a number of users who’ve pre-ordered their Collector’s Edition from Gamestop in the US also claim they won’t get their copies for two whole weeks. Some fans are even saying they’re going to buy three standard copies of the game to ensure they can be playing on launch day, one for themselves and two more for members of their families.

The Tears of the Kingdom Collector’s Edition is currently showing as out of stock on the Nintendo UK Store, so it’s certainly been a popular purchase. However, some people are already selling their Tears of the Kingdom pre-order bonuses on Ebay. Check out our guide if you’re wondering Is Tears of the Kingdom Collector’s Edition worth it?

Fingers crossed, they won’t have to wait too much longer until it’s in their hands. The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom is set to launch on May 12 exclusively on the Nintendo Switch.
