Is there any game that can’t be finished in a ridiculously short time? It seems not. The Bethesda development staff took part in a Skyrim speedrun contest and the winning time was a phenomenal 2 hours 16 minutes.
That’s not the end of the story, though. While Jeff Browne managed to speed through the main quest in 2 hours 16 minutes 30 seconds, his glory was short lived. QA staff member Sam Bernstein wasn’t having any of it, taking a completely different path through the game and finishing in 2 hours, 16 minutes 10 seconds – 20 seconds faster than Jeff.
According to Bethesda the winning speedrun time was an hour longer than the time for Oblivion and Fallout 3.
The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim is due for release on Xbox 360, PS3 and PC on November 11.
