The launch window for Ubisoft’s long-awaited sea-faring adventure Skull and Bones has been delayed once again, much to the chagrin of fans. This latest release date pushback comes after several repeated postponements following its initial 2017 announcement. Though the developers had previously cited wanting to create a “more polished and balanced experience” as the reason for their previous delay, Ubisoft has yet to provide an excuse for this latest rescheduling.

Unfortunately, this means you’ll have to mark your calendars even later to venture across the seven seas with this latest Skull and Bones release date delay having been made official. Luckily, with the end of the year now in sight, you won’t have to wait too long, as the launch window has been revealed and is set to take place in Q1 2024, which means the game will be made available to the public at some point in January to March of next year, barring any unforeseen setbacks.

Back in August 2023, Ubisoft had already conducted a Skull and Bones closed beta period, which exhibited most of what the game has to offer to those lucky enough to gain access. Though most participants praised the overall experience, many also complained about the flaws that it contained at the time, which was predictable as it had only been a pre-release period after all. It’s currently unclear if another beta period will be conducted ahead of the impending launch.

Community reaction towards this announcement has predictably been negative, though most were left unsurprised, as this has been par for the course following several delays. Hopefully, this will be the last launch window postponement because fans are already eager to get their hands on this latest swashbuckling open-world creation.
