Ys Net has announced in a new trailer that Shenmue III will be released on August 27, 2019.

The martial arts-based revenge drama was originally pegged for a December 2017 launch, before being delayed to 2018 and again more recently to next year. So, yeah, we still have a bit of a wait on our hands.

Still, it's been, what, 17 years since Shenmue II hit Dreamcast? Another year to wait won't make much difference.

Shenmue III is currently in development for PC and PlayStation 4, becoming the most funded video game on Kickstarter back in 2015. It's since gone on to raise over $7 million, which means backers will get a bunch of extra content such as an expanded battle system.

In the meantime, it's probably worth remembering that Shenmue I & II is out today for PS4, PC, and Xbox One.
