Serious Sam: Siberian Mayhem is a standalone expansion set for PC later this month

Devolver Digital and Croteam have announced Serious Sam: Siberian Mayhem, a new standalone expansion in their FPS series.

This spin-off has actually been co-developed by regular series modders Timelock Studio and takes series hero Sam Stone to Sibera. You’ll be making your way through vast Russian landscapes across five brand-new levels. They’ll include Arctic coastlines, desolate forests as well as abandoned towns.

The blurb also teases “some of the most advanced and intimidating creatures” in the series yet in this chapter. So naturally that means Sam’s also got some new toys to play with too. These include a legendary AK, an experiemental ‘Perun’ crossbow and more. There’ll also be plenty of new vehicles and gadgets for you to cut through the mutant hordes, of course.

As is par for the course in a Serious Sam game, expect secrets galore. You’ll also be able to take on side-missions and meet a host of new outcasts and other characters, when you’re not blasting Mental’s forces to pieces. As the standalone moniker implies, you won’t need a copy of any other Serious Sam game to play either. Lovely.

You can check out a trailer for Serious Sam: Siberian Mayhem below. No console version has yet been confirmed, despite Serious Sam 4 launching there just last month. Nevertheless, PC players will be able to get their hands on it from January 25.
