Devolver Digital has announced that first person shooter Serious Sam 4 has arrived on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S today.

The game originally arrived on PC last year. It’s a prequel entry in the over-the-top shooter series, where Sam ‘Serious’ Stone takes on hordes of extra terrestrial enemies as the Earth’s last line of defence. Expect many returning and new foes, including the classic screaming Headless Kamikaze forces.

A blurb for the game reads as follows. “Humanity is under siege as the full force of Mental’s hordes spreads across the world, ravaging what remains of a broken and beaten civilization. The last remaining resistance to the invasion is the Earth Defense Force led by the ever-dependable blue-collar grunt Sam “Serious” Stone and his heavily-armed squad of misfit commandos.”

There’s plenty of explosive and devastating weapons at your disposal. These include the double barrel shotgun, the minigun, a chainsaw launcher, auto shotgun and more. You’ll upgrade your loadout along the way, adding armaments like rocket launchers and laser beams. And of course, the action supports co-op multiplayer too, with up to four players online.
