Some new gameplay footage of the upcoming Saints Row reboot has been released, showcasing the new locale of Santo Ileso.
The footage comes by way of US publication Game Informer’s exclusive coverage. While lacking the explosive gunplay the series is known for, we do get a short tour of some of the new locales of the new map. With the action now taking place in the Southwestern USA, we get some very New Orleans vibes. Neon lit bars adorn the streets, and there’s some lovely looking desert views to take in.
Alongside the video, the Game Informer lot also got some hands-on time with an early build of the game too. We’re reliably informed that the game features a new driving model allowing you to jolt your car left or right. You’ll also be able to pull off cool drifts around corners with ease, making you feel very badass.
As the Boss, you’ll have access to a wingsuit when on foot, letting you soar high across the city. You’ll have to get up in the air to use it, however, which is why there’s now spots dotted across the map to fling you skyward. The preview compares the wingsuit to Batman’s gliding ability from Batman: Arkham City, which is pretty solid praise indeed.
