Resident Evil 2 is already getting a Collector's Edition in the US and UK, although it seems Capcom fancied going on step further for the game's Japanese version, known as Biohazard RE:2.

Instead of simply featuring the statue of floppy-haired hero Leon S. Kennedy as its centrepiece, the Premium Edition also chucks in a Qwerkywriter Bluetooth mechanical keyboard. It's a modified version of the S model currently on sale, and features an Umbrella Corp. branding and mount for a tablet or smartphone.

Not only that, but side from the aforementioned statue of Leon, you also get an art book and game soundtrack for your troubles, plus four collectible washi (masking) tape rolls kitted out like Resident Evil ink ribbons.

Capcom's flogging the whole set, known as Biohazard RE: 2 Z Version Premium Edition, for a whopping 99,800 yen — that roughly equates to around 700 quid, or $900.

It's enough to make even the money-hungry merchant from Resi 4 wince.

Resident Evil 2 is due for release on PlayStation 4, PC, and Xbox One on January 25, 2019. Capcom recently revealed that you'll be able to play through the game with just a knife if you want, and it'll also be accessible for speedrunners.

Promisingly, it appears the Japanese software giant is open to more remakes at some point in the future, which gives me hope we'll see a fully overhauled Resi 3.
