While Remnant 2 hasn’t officially been released to everyone yet, players who pre-ordered the digital Ultimate Edition were given access to the game yesterday. While there are plenty of fun and in-depth class setups to pick from, Handler players just want to be able to name their dog.

Despite the obvious reason for picking the Handler class given you get your own dog, the class itself acts as a jack-of-all-trades making it an ideal class for players to start off with. However, an inaugural part of getting your own dog is giving them a name, a feature which, unfortunately, Remnant 2 lacks. Many players were disheartened by this including user monzka who took to the Remnant Reddit page saying, “As a Handler, I should be able to name my dog.”

Others were quick to agree with another player pointing out, “We can pet it therefore we should be able to name it (please).” Others were a little confused as to why this wasn’t already a feature with another player saying, “It is kind of odd given that if they’re going to give it a health bar and name on the hud, they should let us pick one. Seems a little odd to just have the generic, ‘DOG’ label on the health bar.”

It might be the case that the game’s developers, Gunfire Games, implement this feature in a future update but some players are already convinced their dog has a name and it’s… well, Dog.
