Saber Interactive and 34BigThings have released a new gameplay trailer for anti-gravity racer sequel Redout 2.

A follow up to the 2016 original, Redout 2 takes inspiration from classics of the genre such as WipEout & F-Zero. As a pilot in the galaxy’s most popular sport, you’ll be whizzing around 36 unique tracks across a variety of game modes. These include an expansive singleplayer campaign, and up to 12-player online multiplayer races.

Other game modes teased include Arena Races, Time Attack, Last Man Standing and even some Boss Racers to truly test your skills. And any WipEout tribute worth its salt wouldn’t be complete without a thumping electronic soundtrack. Furthermore, that music will also be dynamically mixed in real time based on race data.

Developer 34BigThings promise the game will be easy to pick up & play thanks to “an intuitive driving system”. But it’ll also be tough to master, with hoverships reaching speeds of over 1000 km/h. You’ll be able to customise your ride too, of course, with 12 chassis to pick from and loads of changeable parts like flaps, rudders, stabilisers and more. You’ll also be able to earn more cosmetics thanks to regularly added online custom content and seasons with bonus rewards.
