Rumours are abound that Star Wars Eclipse development studio Quantic Dream may be working on a second AAA game based on The Dark Sorcerer tech demo.

The rumour comes from Twitter user AccountNGT as spotted by Video Games Chronicle. The account has some credibility with these rumours, previously posting screenshots from Star Wars Eclipse days before its official announcement. It claims that the project will be a “humor based game” made by the core team in Paris.

AccountNGT also goes on to claim that the game will feature a non-linear storyline, written by David Cage. “Narrative interactivity” will also apparently be a heavy focus, putting it on a similar footing to the studio’s other titles. The game is already allegedly “more advanced” than their recently-announced Star Wars Eclipse project, and will be cross-gen.

It’s not actually the first time there’s been rumours of a game based on The Dark Sorcerer. In case you’re not familiar, the original video was first shown at E3 in 2013 to showcase the power of the PlayStation 4. In 2015, it was rumoured that the studio’s next project would be based on the next-gen comedy.

However, on its reveal that wasn’t the case, and their next game would wind up as 2018’s Detroit: Become Human. Ironically enough, that game was also based on a former tech demo entitled Kara showcasing the PlayStation 3 back in 2012. You can check out the original The Dark Sorcerer video for yourself down below.

There’s been no confirmation from Quantic Dream on the new The Dark Sorcerer project yet, so take this rumour with a pinch of salt. For now, Star Wars Eclipse is the only confirmed game in development at the studio. It doesn’t yet have a release date.
