Although PlayStation has been tight-lipped on its upcoming current-gen console upgrade, a minor mishap on its official YouTube channel has accidentally revealed the company’s plans to announce the PS5 Pro.
Today, PlayStation uploaded an unlisted video initially titled “PS5 Pro” before changing the caption to a more ambiguous “PlayStation 5 Technical Presentation – September 10” (no prizes for guessing what tomorrow’s showcase will be about). Unfortunately, despite the immediate cover-up, the damage had already been done after thousands of people saw the mistake, and many now know what to expect once the live steam kicks off at 8 am PT / 11 am ET / 4 pm BST.
This also comes after senior director of content communications Sid Shuman originally announced the “9-minute Technical Presentation” that “will focus on PS5 and innovations in gaming technology” in a recent blog post. However, even though PlayStation prematurely and accidentally showed its hand to the public, it’s currently unclear if the livestream will only focus on the PS5 Pro or if it will also showcase other upcoming projects.
That said, once the stream kicks off tomorrow, the PlayStation team will probably unveil the release date, specs, and price point for PlayStation’s current-gen upgrade. Although still unconfirmed, many expect the console to cost upwards of $600, which would make sense considering its upgraded hardware. Of course, this is still mere speculation, so take this with the customary grain of salt like always.
