Sony has sold over six million PlayStation 4 consoles in the UK since its launch in November 2013, according to GI.biz's Christopher Dring (via PSLS).

Not only that, but the console managed to shift one million units in 2018 alone, which is pretty impressive for a system that has been on the market for five years. Sony confirmed back in October that PS4 has now shipped 86.1 million consoles worldwide, meaning it has now surpassed the PS3.

In case you're wondering how PS4 compares with Xbox One, Dring added that Microsoft's flagship box has moved just under five million in the UK.

The PS4 and Xbox One both launched around the same time, and although Microsoft has kept quiet about its worldwide sales, it is strongly believed that PS4 is comfortably ahead in numbers.
