PS Plus Essential Games for November 2022

Nioh 2/Nioh 2 Remastered

Nioh 2 is a tough action RPG from Team Ninja – but is probably one of the best Soulslikes out there. It’s set in Japan in the late 1500 and lets you take the power of a Yokai spirit.

This gives you some pretty badass supernatural abilities on top of your samurai skills – but don’t expect a walk in the park as you fight mythical monsters. The game’s fast paced combat is tough but fair.

Those on the PlayStation 5 will get the Remastered version of the game, with the visuals given a next-gen upgrade to take advantage of the newer console’s increased horsepower.

Lego Harry Potter Collection

As the name suggests, this is a collection of both previous Lego Harry Potter games – namely Years 1-4 and Years 5-7 both remastered and brought together.

You’ll go through the boy wizard’s story brick and brick and book by book as you explore Hogwarts and play as a wealth of characters from the series. And don’t forget to go to class while you’re at it.

Heavenly Bodies

Finally, Heavenly Bodies is a physics based puzzler – that sees you playing with gravity and physics while onboard a scientific research station in space.

With a control scheme somewhat similar to games like QWOP you’d expect things to get silly fast, but it’s actually a very polished, very competent puzzle game that’ll keep your brain sharp.

Last month, those on the PS Plus Essential tier got to download Hot Wheels Unleashed, Injustice 2 and Superhot.

Curiously enough, the PlayStation Blog post doesn’t give a date for when these games will be leaving the service. Perhaps we’ll find out if this is significant, or just an oversight, at the end of the month.
