PS Plus subscribers have just received FBC Firebreak as a day-one release, and in just under a week PS5 gamers will be able to enjoy Kojima’s highly-anticipated Death Stranding 2. While the launch of Death Stranding 2 is imminent, it will be accompanied by the reveal of the next batch of Essential games for PS Plus. While Sony’s next batch of freebies remains a mystery, the PS Plus July 2025 games leaving have just been confirmed with two big replacements already lined-up.
PS Plus July 2025 games leaving
Below are the games known to be leaving PS Plus Extra and Premium in July 2025:
- Dying Light 2 (Extra)
- Remnant II (Extra)
- Mount & Blade II Bannerlord (Extra)
- Vampire The Masquerade – Swangsong (Extra)
- Final Fantasy VII Crisis Core Reunion (Premium)
- Job Simulator (Premium)
All the above will leave on July 15th. There are only six games which is thankfully far fewer than previous months, but the games included are sadly really good. Dying Light 2 is excellent and perfect to play before The Beast comes out in August, and Mount & Blade II Bannerlord is fantastic for players wanting a rich medieval RPG with huge battles.
Final Fantasy VII Crisis Core Reunion is a remaster of the PSP classic that is a must-play as it gives context to Zack’s existence in FF7 Remake Part 2, and also tells the downfall of Sephiroth from beloved hero to hunky villain. Job Simulator is also one of the only few good PSVR games, so it leaving Premium is another blow for people who actually own the hardware.
PS Plus July 2025 games confirmed
There are only two games confirmed for PS Plus July 2025 so far. As revealed in the PlayStation Blog recapping the State of Play for June, Twisted Metal 3 and 4 will join the Premium catalogue on July 15th. It’s likely you’ll be able to buy these classics from the PSN store if you are not subscribed to Premium.
In addition to the above, Sony has confirmed Sword of the Sea is joining PS Plus Extra day-one on August 19th, and former PlayStation President, Shuhei Yoshida, has said it is his “favorite game“. As if that wasn’t enough, the original PS1 versions of Resident Evil 2 and 3 are also joining Premium “Later this summer,” which presumably means August.
The departures of big and beloved games is disappointing, especially with Sony stating more PS Plus price increases are on the way. In further bad news, Sony has also stated that they are pushing forward with more live-service games with Helldivers 2 regarded as a success and mistakes learned from the abysmal failure of Concord.
In other PlayStation news, Sony has also said the PS6 is only a few years away.
