Red Ferraris have been the focus of boxart for both previous titles in the Project Gotham series, – a Ferrari F50 and a Ferrari Enzo respectively. This, among other things, has led to internet speculation that this is a screenshot from the forthcoming Xbox 360 title, Project Gotham Racing 3.
This news comes barely a week after a next-gen iteration of Project Gotham was all but confirmed, which is now further fuelling speculation over the origin of the picture. If one was inclined towards the over-analytical state of mind, the Ferrari 360 Modena could, infact, be a subtle confirmation (of sorts) that Microsoft’s next-gen console will be called the Xbox 360, but the smart money says that it’s PGR3 shot. We’ll have to wait until May 12th, when the console is officially unveiled on the unlikely platform of MTV.
Unfortunately for graphics whores, the text “C a r R e n d e r 3 6 0 _ M a g a z i n e _ C o v e r _ r e _ t o u c h e d u p “ has been found within the file, which obviously suggests that the shot is pre-rendered, and not taken from the in-game engine, although many would argue that, to justify the hype, next-gen consoles would have to be capable of churning out graphics of this calibre. Only time will tell.
