Pokémon Puzzle League will be available to Nintendo Switch Online Expansion Pack subscribers on July 15th. The Nintendo 64 game was a spin on the Panel de Pon series of puzzle games. In the West, it was called Puzzle League.
The game was originally released on the N64 in 2000, and it only came to PAL regions and to North America. Check out the trailer below:
The description reads:
âGet ready for a new kind of Pokémon battle where the power and speed of your brain are just as important as the strength of your Pokémon! Join Ash, Brock, Misty, and many more characters from the Pokémon animated series as they gather in Puzzle Village to compete for the title of Pokémon Puzzle Master.â
Other recent additions to the Nintendo Switch Online service include Kirby 64: The Crystal Shards, which is really good. And there were also some additions to the Mega Drive catalogue. Nintendo added Sonic Spinball, Shining Force II and Space Harrier II to the collection in April.
Sony has adopted a similar approach to Nintendoâs, with its new PlayStation Plus subscription. There is a small and growing collection of original PlayStation games on there. And it seems closer to the sort of subscription that Nintendo offers than that of Microsoft.
On the subject of Pokémon, the last games in the main series were remakes. Pokémon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl were an intriguing duo. While they offered a nicely tuned version of the originals, they were also a little on the easy side.
