Open world prequel Pokémon Legends: Arceus got a detailed showcase during today’s Pokémon Presents livestream earlier today.
You’ll be playing as a member of the Galaxy Expedition Team, visiting Jubilife Village. The area acts as a base hub of sorts, and you’ll take assignments and quests from the residents before you set out into the Hisui region. You’ll set up at base camps around the region, where you can rest up your Pokémon or craft items to help in battles.
We’re also introduced to some new Pokémon, including the big horn Pokémon Wyrdeer and fish Pokémon Basulegion. Regional monsters also make their return, with a new evolved form of Rufflet called Hisuian Braviary and Hisuian Growlithe also showcased in the footage. You’ll also get to ride Pokémon to get around, and new for combat is the ability to pick styles. For example, Agile Style allows you to pull off multiple moves in a row while Strong style allows harder hitting moves.
You can check out both the new trailer and the full Pokémon Presents presentation down below. In the same presentation, we also got some new details on remakes Pokémon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl which you can check out here.
Pokémon Legends: Arceus is currently set to launch exclusively on the Nintendo Switch on January 28, 2022.
