Fresh from being acquired by PlayStation Studios earlier this month, Firesprite has announced it has in turn acquired Fabrik Games.

The studio is based out of the UK in Manchester and previously worked with Firesprite on The Persistence. The team were actually founded by Firesprite’s Managing Director Graeme Ankers “with the vision to create, publish, and support new gaming experiences coming out of Manchester including the launches of multiple indie titles.” In joining Firesprite, they’ll be “playing a key role in the studio’s efforts to strengthen SIE’s catalog of exclusive games”.

Ankers also provided a statement on the new additions. “They are a team of passionate and committed developers, led by industry veterans who have worked on many AAA franchises. We’re looking forward to bolstering our creative talent as we continue on our journey to offer truly unique experiences for PlayStation fans”.

Fabrik Games Studio Head Errol Ismail also offered a quote of his own. “We have a history working and collaborating closely with Firesprite. There’s a huge amount of creative and cultural alignment already and the entire team is excited to be on board. We can’t wait to show everyone what we’re capable of.”

Firesprite was announced as the newest member of the PlayStation Studios family earlier this month. The studio is made up of former members of Studio Liverpool (FKA Psygnosis) who were behind the WipEout and Destruction Derby series.
