The latest Helldivers 2 01.000.400 update went live earlier today, marking the first major update in over a month. This patch buffed and nerfed many weapons and Stratagems as well as improved many aspects of the game. Overall, the update has been received positively by the community and it is clear that the developers took the time to make sure that the changes were beneficial to the balancing of the game, as well as implementing much-needed quality-of-life changes.

Arrowhead Game Studios Founder and Helldivers 2 Creative Director Johan Pilestedt took to X to ask the community for feedback on the latest update, which will help to show which areas they need to focus on.

One of the most popular replies came from @AllFatherMedia who requested a camouflage stratagem be added to the game saying “Not a patch idea as such but it would be really cool to get a stratagem that provides active camouflage for a short time. In terms of lore it could be technology retrofitted from the experiments on stalkers. Reduced detection and allows you to lose aggro if you’re being overwhelmed, deactivates and cools down when it runs out or if you happen to take damage.”

@SwanyPlaysGames and many others want to see changes made to the Jump Pack to make it closer to the Jump Pack available during the Dark Fluid mission saying “Maybe changes to the jump pack? The dark fluid jump pack was super fun. I wish the regular jump pack had either a quicker cooldown or had more power to the jumps.”

One of my own requested features was mentioned by @BromigoBeGaming and that is adding swimming to the game, with them saying “Can we add swimming into the game? It’s technically already in the game. Just make it where we die if we run out of stamina. Or put a creature in the water if we stay too long.”

A piece of feedback I am surprised I didn’t see more of is related to the 500KG Bomb and its lack of power, with it not being uncommon to see the grunt-type enemies walk away unscathed from the blast, with @GameOverThirty saying “Looks good all around, but I’m very surprised I don’t see notes about the 500kg bomb. I’ve watched drone soldiers inside the blast walk away unscathed. As it stands right now, there just isn’t a good reason to use 500kg outside the amazing visual.”

Although Pilestedt didn’t reply to many comments, Arrowhead Game Studios is very in tune with the community so it is likely that the team read most of the replies, meaning that we could see features and changes implemented in the future.

With the update changing so much in the game, along with the release of the Viper Commandos Warbond, the meta will no doubt be shaken up.
