Publisher Dotemu has dropped a new trailer for Pharaoh: A New Era, a remake of the classic 1999 Sierra city-builder.
Developer Triskell Interactive has rebuilt the game from the ground up, but given the game a graphical makeover. The trailer shows off side by side comparisons of the original game with the new version, showcasing how the new visuals bring new life into the classic Pharaoh.
Visuals aren’t the only thing getting a tune up. The teams recently completed a closed pre-alpha with existing Pharaoh fans to ensure an accurate recreation of what made the original tick. Community feedback will continue to play a large role in the ongoing development, the team claims.
There’ll be all new netcode in this version too, of course, as well as improved mechanics and UI. If you’re not familiar, the Campaign tasks players with developing cities in six different periods of ancient Egypt. This will include trade centres, grand cities and of course, huge monuments and pyramids.
The A New Era version will also include all the content from the game’s original expansion pack Cleopatra: Queen of the Nile. This includes a further 53 missions, a map and mission editor and a Free Build mode too.
Pharaoh: A New Era doesn’t have a release date yet, but it’ll release on PC when it does. Check out the new trailer for yourself down below.
