When is the Persona 3 Reload release date

The Persona 3 Reload release date will be on Friday, February 2, 2024. Those subscribed to Game Pass can also access the game on opening day via the Windows app or through the console.

Persona 3 Reload is the first entry in the series that’s received a complete overhaul since the original entry, Persona 3 Portable, was released almost 14 years ago in 2009. This means you should expect plenty of content that’ll have you exploring Tartarus even longer than usual.

Persona 3 Reload platforms explained

Persona 3 Reload will be released for the PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and PC. It’s a healthy list that covers most current-gen and last-gen consoles. It’s a shame that the handheld Nintendo Switch won’t be getting this title, at least at launch.

Persona 3 Reload pre-order bonuses

Players who pre-order Persona 3 Reload will get the Persona 4 Golden BGM Set, which has the following tracks:

  • Reach Out to the Truth
  • Time To Make History
  • I’ll Face Myself
  • Battle
  • A New World Fool
  • The Fog
  • Results

What is the Persona 3 Reload story

The Persona 3 Reload story will essentially follow the original game’s plot, which revolves around the spookily named Dark Hour – a period that occurs whenever one day rolls over into the next. During this period, Gekkoukan High School – the alma mater of the game’s main characters – turns into the towering Tartarus, an area filled with treacherous Shadows.

To uncover more about the mysteries of the Dark Hour and Tartarus, the Hero and the rest of his companions created S.E.E.S., also known as the Specialized Extracurricular Execution Squad. Each team member has their own Persona, which, if you’ve played any of the other games in the series, are manifestations of one’s psyche.

Expect tense turn-based combat paired with the rigors of academic life as you build bonds with friends via the Social Link system. The games are known for their heavy themes and powerful soundtracks so expect no different from Persona 3 Reload. While the Persona 5-like aesthetic might not appeal to retro fans, it makes a striking difference in how Atlus presents the game.

Persona 3 Portable’s female protagonist won’t be included

Producer Ryota Niitsuma had previously revealed that Persona 3 Portable’s playable female protagonist will not be included in Persona 3 Reloaded, much to the chagrin of fans.

All Persona 3 Reload trailers so far

Atlus has released several Persona 3 Reload trailers so far, with the latest one giving players a closer look at Aigis, the endearing Android companion.

Atlus has also provided individual teasers for many other characters you’ll get to meet in the game, including ones for Yukari, Koromaru, Junpei, Fuuka, Mitsuru, Akihiko, and the Hero. These prominent figures also happen to be the ones you’ll be spending most of your time with, whether you’re exploring the dangerous halls of Tartarus or attempting to grow your social link with each one.

Earlier on, the game’s publisher also gave fans an idea of what to expect with the story through a cinematic “Meet the S.E.E.S.” trailer, showcasing all the characters in plenty of shadow-hunting, turn-based action.

Atlus also released a short clip providing more context to the game’s “never-before-seen backstory, linked episode footage, and all-new battle mechanics” through their Conflicting Fates trailer.

Of course, if you want to get an idea of what the music will sound like as you battle your way through Tartarus, you can take a look at the exciting Battle BGM & Gameplay Reveal trailer instead.
