While developer PocketPair may be in the midst of a lawsuit with Nintendo, its iconic Pokemon clone Palworld is now coming to PS5. After months of waiting, the long-awaited Palworld PS5 port is out later today.

Palworld PS5 is out right now

Announced during the most recent PlayStation State of Play presentation, players will be able to finally experience Palworld on PlayStation consoles.Since January, the game has only been available on Xbox One, Xbox Series and PC, but fans have been waiting for a PlayStation port.

Over 25 million players have experienced Palworld on these systems, largely due to its presence on Xbox Game Pass. However, with millions of copies sold, the game has been one of the biggest indie successes in years.

It’s not known if Palworld will be keeping update parity with the current versions of the game or if the new Palworld PS5 port will be a few days behind in updates. Considering the game’s move to sync its Xbox and PC versions over the past year, we would hope for parity in its new PlayStation release.

A turbulent time

With a massive lawsuit now on its hands, Palworld PS5 is launching at a turbulent time for developer PocketPair. While the lawsuit has yet to affect the indie studio, there is a sense of dress as the company goes head to head with the highly litigious Nintendo.

Nevertheless, it is nice to see Palworld come to more players. While far from perfect, the game offers a very exciting combination of Pokemon gameplay with survival game elements. Oh, also there’s a bunch of guns that your Pals can use which is always fun to see.
