Overwatch 2 reveals new hero Ramattra coming in Season Two

Blizzard has revealed the latest details on the next hero coming to Overwatch 2, with Ramattra confirmed as arriving in the game as part of Season Two.

The hero was revealed during the Overwatch League Grand Finals, and some extra insight was given to press including VideoGamer in a group interview late last week.

Ramattra was previously glimpsed at all the way back during a cutscene for the 2019 Storm Rising Event, as the leader of Null Sector. He got a new cutscene for this reveal, which you can see below.

He’ll be a tank character, and while we didn’t get a specific breakdown of his moveset just yet, lead hero designer Alec Dawson revealed his ultimate will see him change forms between his standard Omnic form and a ‘Nemesis’ form.

In Omnic form, Ramattra will be mainly focused on defence – while Nemesis will see him rage up and ‘Hulk-out’ so to speak, making him a dangerous and vital target for an opposing force to take down. As Dawson teases “You’re going to want to get away from him when he uses it.”

In the lore, Ramattra will have a fairly close relationship with fellow Omnic Zenyatta, as they were brought up together “like brothers”. Lead Narrative Designer Gavin Jurgens-Fyhrie also teased that we’ll learn more about Zenyatta through Ramattra’s reveal.

As for when we can expect Ramattra’s arrival – currently he will arrive with the Season Two Battle Pass. In fact, this will be the only way to get him – and he’ll currently be a Tier 55 unlock just as Kuriko was in Season 1.

There’ll be more information on Ramattra – and the rest of Season Two – in the next few weeks leading up to Season Two’s launch.
