The official Oddworld: Soulstorm Twitter account has teased that Abe’s latest adventure is heading to Xbox consoles soon.

While light on details, the post shows Abe opening a mysterious package, when he becomes bathed in a green glow. We then hear the familiar Xbox Series X|S startup noise, and the clip ends. While short, it’s an obvious signifier the game is finally on its way four months after it launched on PlayStation 5.

The game is somewhere between a remake of 1998’s Oddworld: Abe’s Exoddus and an entirely new sequel to Oddworld: New ‘N’ Tasty. Josh said of the game in his review “Lanning and his team, wielding a singular talent for visual storytelling (much is conveyed in the sour-milk beacons of Abe’s eyes), show us a grimy glimpse of what might happen if a Pixar movie were not only spiked with darkness—as indeed they are—but stained by it.”

An ESRB listing for the game was spotted in June along with a PlayStation 5 version of former Xbox Series X|S exclusive The Medium. That latter game will be getting a PlayStation 5 release on September 5 complete with exclusive DualSense features.

There’s no date for an Oddworld: Soulstorm Xbox release just yet, but rest assured we’ll keep you in the loop once we hear more. In the meantime, check out the cheeky teaser for yourself below.
